My name is Tom and it's my pleasure to share a
bi-weekly cigar rating with you. First a little background. I've
been a serious cigar smoker for the last 9 years. I've enjoyed many
different cigars, and met a ton of nice people, who have shared
their wisdom and knowledge with me (both men and women). I've
attended a yearly cigar event for the past 2 going on 3 years, and
got to meet most of the manufacturers in the cigar industry ( as
well as some celebrities). The one thing I can actually say is that
cigar smoking isn't a habit, it's a lifestyle. So hopefully you'll
enjoy my reviews.
Cigar review #
6 Cigar: Rocky Patel Edge Maduro
Size: Toro(6x52) Origin: Honduras Wrapper: Costa
Rica Maduro Binder: ? Filler: Honduran,
Nicaragua From the beautiful oily sheen on the wrapper
to the first exhilarating puff on this beauty, you know you've made
a great smoking choice. This cigar will wake up your taste buds and
fill your palate with an array of spice with a fullness of flavor
that lasts throughout the wonderful smoking experience, while
maintaing a smooth draw. This is definitely a medium to full body
loaded with flavor. For those of you that like to kick it up a
notch- Bam! Try a corojo wrapper. For those who prefer a little bit
milder - poof! Try a edge lite. This is a cigar I consider to
be one of the most underated gems in the cigar world. It has really
made other manufacturers step up quality while paying attention to
price. Thank you Mr. Patel for continually showing your passion in
the cigar industry. I would easily rate this a
91. Tom

Cigar: Cusano Corojo 97 size:
Torpedo(6x52) Origan: Dominican Republic Wrapper: Ecuadorian
Cuban seed Corojo Binder: Spicy sumatra, and Mexican Filler:
Dominican
Republic This cigar
really made me throw some respect Cusano's way. Right off the
get go the nice toasty notes and hints of spice tingle the old taste
buds and never stop. From the easy draw, to the cool smooth smoke, a
definite must try for all non believers. A solid 89 - 90 all the
way. But don't take my word for it, try this medium body treat
and you'll feel like the kid who found the magic decoder ring in his
Cracker Jack Box! Tom

Review #4 Ashton - Estate Sun grown Size : 20
year salute(6.75x49) Origin : Dominican Republic Binder : ?(
D.R.) Filler : ? (D.R.) From the beautiful wrapper
and the gorgeous band artwork, What a cigar! Upon lighting you'll
notice the subtle earth tones and easy draw. The cool burn and the
smooth smoke, accentuate the hints of cedar and delicious rich
flavor. It starts mild and finishes mild to medium, without becoming
harsh. This easily rates in my favorite top ten of all times. To sum
it all up in one statement,"I feel like I've just won the cigar
lottery". Easily a 93 if not 94 rating! (Keep in mind that has
limited production each year and only 2 sizes are currently offered.
A third won't be offered till 2010.) Grab one while you
can! Tom

Cigar:Carlos Torano Exodus
1959 size: Perfecto(5.75 x 50) Origin: Honduras Wrapper:
Honduras 2000 Binder: Honduran Filler: Costa Rican,Honduran,
Dom. Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua What a piece of eye
candy! This mildly - box pressed beauty smokes as good as it
looks. From the start; hints of spice and chocolate touch my palate,
as creamy rich flavors develop, followed by cloud after cloud of an
aromatic pleasing smoke. What a way to commemorate the exodus
of the torano family from cuba and start a cigar dynasty. Though
medium in body, a must try for those who favor full body cigars.
Easily a 90 - 91 rating! Tom Nice Ashers - while supplies last there is a buy

Cigar: El Rey del Mundo
Olvidados Size: Chateau R (5x54) Origin: Honduran Wrapper:
Ecuadorian Sumatra Binder: Connecticut Broadleaf Filler:
Nicaraguan ligero, Honduran viso, Dominican seco Boy 'o' boy what
a cigar. With the appearance of the rustic Cuban era, this baby
packs a tasty taste bud treat. Drawing exceptionally smooth the
complexity of flavor that builds with each passing draw. As layers
of cedary and earthy tones appear, they blend and create a very
enjoyable taste experience. This is one cigar that I would easily
give a 91 to 92 rating. Take my advice and treat yourself to one
helluva of a smoke, I will again, and again.

Week 1: Partagas Spanish Rosada Size: Familia
(6" x 50 ring gauge) Origin: Dominican Republic Wrapper:
Honduran Spanish Rosada Binder: Connecticut Broadleaf Filler:
Long Leaf Dominican, Mexican, Honduran The gorgeous
reddish-brown rosada wrapper is just the icing on the cake. As you
enjoy this medium body, well constructed cigar, the bold and spicy
flavors will captivate you as a beautiful white ash develops. A nice
burn and smooth draw makes this a very enjoyable smoke which has a
very slightly sweet finish. I would easily give this an 89 to 90
rating out of a 100. I hope you enjoy it as much as I
did. Tom
